Concert: FUN. & Walk the Moon – AB Bruxelles + Résultat concours Cutey

Ces deux prochains mois je vais un peu vivre à l’Ancienne Belgique car je vais voir toute une série de concerts. Je sais que c’est un blog de mode ici à la base, mais j’ai quand même envie de partager avec vous ces concerts, et qui sait, peut-être vous faire découvrir un nouvel artiste.

I think for the next two months I’ll be practically living at the Ancienne Belgique as I am seeing quite a few concerts. I know this is a fashion blog, but I still wanted to share these concerts with you, and maybe you’ll discover an artist that you like.

Ce dimanche j’ai donc été voir FUN. avec en première partie Walk the Moon. Je ne connaissais pas du tout Walk the Moon, mais ces musiciens originaires d’Ohio m’ont bien surprise. Après une chanson la salle était déjà conquise! J’ai acheté l’album ce matin et je ne pourrais que vous le recommander.

So this Sunday I went to see FUN. with Walk the Moon as the opening act. I didn’t know Walk the Moon at all, but these musicians from Ohio totally surprised me. After only one song the audience was already under their charm! I bought the album this morning and I highly recommend it.

Si vous ne connaissez pas FUN. il est fort probable que vous n’allumez jamais votre radio car leur single “We Are Young”, rendu célèbre (ou du moins populaire) par la série “Glee”, passe pratiquement en boucle. Mais FUN. c’est aussi deux albums d’une qualité exceptionnelle.  J’avais déjà regardé quelques morceaux accoustiques sur YouTube et j’étais vraiment impressionnée par le chanteur Nate Ruess, mais alors sur scène il m’a juste ébloui. Comment une telle voix peut sortir de ce petit gars, c’est juste incroyable. Il a vraiment les capacités vocales pour Broadway, et je dois dire que parfois certaines chansons s’approchent de cet univers théâtral.

If you don’t know FUN. there is a good chance you don’t ever listen to the radio because their single “We Are Young”, made famous (or at least popular) by the TV show “Glee”, airs practically on a loop. But FUN. it’s also two amazing albums. I had already watched a couple of accoustic videos on YouTube and I was really impressed by the singer Nate Ruess, but once on stage he just blew my mind. How such a strong voice comes from such a tiny guy is incredible. He is like a Broadway powerhouse, and I have to say that some of his songs have their musical, theatrical tone to them.

Apparement ils n’avaient pas encore joué devant une salle aussi grande en Europe et ils semblaient vraiment émus devant l’enthousiasme du public. C’est toujours chouette de voir “les débuts” d’une groupe comme cela. C’était donc une heure et demie de pur bonheur et surtout vraiment FUN!

Apparently it was their first time playing such a big venue in Europe and they really seemed overwhelmed by all the enthusiasm of the crowd. It’s always a special moment to witness the “beginnings” of a band like that. So it was 90 minutes of pure happiness and most of all FUN! 

Gros coup de coeur également pour la reprise de “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.

Also loved their cover of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by The Rolling Stones.
