Je ne vous apprends peut-être rien mais il y a un petit moment le site Ma Grande Taille a lancé un concours de mannequinat. A la clé un voyage à Las Vegas afin de participer au défilé ayant lieu pendant The Curvy Revolution. The Curvy Revolution est en fait une convention plus size où vous pourrez assister à des défiles de mode, séminaires, échanges de vêtements,… Bref un bel évènement pour célébrer toutes les femmes qui ne font pas une taille 0.
Au passage la Full Figured Fashion Week qui est le même genre de convention mais plus axé sur la mode aura lieu en juin 2011 à New York. C’est le moment d’épargner! ;) C’est un évènement auquel j’aimerais vraiment participer alors on va commencer à réfléchir comment organiser tout cela. Si vous voulez me sponsoriser je vous accueille à bras ouverts! Je suis subtile, non?

Maybe you know this already but Ma Grande Taille is organizing a model contest. What’s to win? An amazing trip to Las Vegas to walk the runaway at The Curvy Revolution. The Curvy Revolution is a plus size events with fashion shows, talks, swaps for clothes,… A great event to celebrate every women who isn’t a size 0.
Btw the Full Figured Fashion Week which is more of the same kind of event but maybe more based on fashion will happen in June 2011 in New York. Time to save up! ;) It’d love to be part of this event so I think it’s time to start thinking on how to make it happen. If you want to sponsor me I welcome you! I am really subtle, huh?

Si je vous en parle ici c’est parce que le pendant anglais de Ma Grande Taille càd Plus Size Tall organise le même concours mais en Angleterre. Pour l’instant ils en sont seulement aux pré-selections de candidates. Voici donc toutes les informations si vous êtes intéressées (je ne traduis pas en français bien sûr!).
If I mention it here it’s because the UK version of Ma Grande Taille: Plus Size Tall is organizing the same contest but in England. Right now they have started phase 1 meaning you can send your pictures and why you want to participate. The event is sponsored by Evans and there are fantastic prizes to be won! There is a whole host of fantastic prizes at stake and the competition kicks off with 15 lucky finalists being kitted out by evans for the catwalk show, to ensure they step out in style. Each finalist will get to select and keep their outfits each worth over £100. Following the runway showcase, two runners up will receive £250 of evans vouchers and the lucky winner will receive £500 worth of Evans clothing, a plane trip to Las Vegas and accommodation at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Hotel. She will also take part in the Curvy Revolution official fashion show, modelling on the catwalk amongst some of America’s leading plus size models.
How to take part?
Contestants must be women who are UK residents and over 21, wear at least UK size 16 clothing, be at least 5′6″, be able to walk in heels 3″or higher, and apply online at http://www.plus-size-tall.com/community/model-search
3 Easy Steps:
1) From November 18th to January 2nd, the contestants can fill in the online application, sending in photos and explaining why they wish to win the competition. The first decision is down to the other
members of the Plus-Size-Tall.com community who will vote for their favourite contestant. Anyone can vote by becoming a member of the Plus-Size-Tall.com community (for free).
2) On January 2nd 2011, the 15 contestants with the most votes will be announced and invited to London to take part in step two.
3) On January 15th 2011, these remaining contestants will face a professional jury in London. The ladies will be asked to walk on a stage and explain why they think they should be the UK’s plus size
model at the Curvy Revolution. At the end of this session, the jury will pick the final winner.
Petite tenue pas super originale mais ce matin c’était le vrai déluge en Belgique. Point positif? L’occasion de ressortir mes bottes en plastiqué Vivienne Westwood pour Melissa. Il n’y a pas que les enfants qui ont le droit de sauter dans les flaques après tout! Elliott (mon teckel pour ceux qui ne le savent pas encore) a crié à la trahison mais comment résister à la bouille de ce bulldog? Le pull vient de chez Debenhams à la Londres. Je vous avais déjà parlé de leur collaboration avec plusieurs designers. Celui-ci a été créé par Ben De Lisi pour Principles. Sa collection taille jusqu’au UK20.
Not a very original outfit but it was pouring down this morning in Belgium. The silver lining is that I was able to wear my plastic boots made by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa. Who said that only kids could play in puddles? Elliott (my dachshund for those of you who have no clue yet) felt a little betrayed by this jumper but who could resist this cute little face? The jumper comes from Debenhams in London. I had already mentionned they do collaborations with several designers. This one was created by Ben De Lisi for Principles. His collection goes up to a UK20.

Aujourd’hui grand débarquement de la collection Lanvin pour H&M dans notre plat pays. Je vous ai déjà donné mes impressions ici quand j’ai été à la présentation presse. J’avais flashé sur le collier rouge non pas parce que c’est du Lanvin mais vraiment car je le trouve très original. Cependant je n’allais pas faire la fille depuis 5h du matin dans l’espoir d’un avoir un. J’ai hésité à y aller et puis finalement je suis partie vers 11h à la Rue Neuve. Au fin fond du magasin pas de cohue mais une bonne file. Je me renseigne un peu, il n’y a plus de bracelet mais pas de souci on peut faire la file. Je n’ai dû attendre qu’une grosse demi-heure pour rentrer avec mon groupe de 29 autres personnes. En attendant j’ai un peu discuté avec quelques personnes. La plupart ne connaissait absolument rien à la collection… prix, modèles, etc Donc j’ai un petit peu expliqué (oui c’est mon côté humanitaire! mdr). Une fois dans l’enclos Lanvin (meuuuh) c’est un peu la folie. Je n’ose même pas imaginer avec plus de 30 personnes. Je prends un collier rouge, c’est déjà le dernier. J’ai fait un tour rapide des vêtements et les robes de soirée n’avaient quand même pas beaucoup de succès. Après mes 5 minutes de shopping, j’ai vite été voir aux hommes au -1 où il n’y avait absolument plus personne mais encore plein de vêtements!
Today was the launch of Lanvin for H&M in Belgium. I have already given you my impressions when I went to the press presentation. I really fell in love with the red necklace, not because it’s Lanvin, but because I find it really original. But I am not crazy and wasn’t planning to queue at 5am in the hope to grab one. I hesitated and finally I left home around 11am and went to Brussels. At the back of the store no madness but a little crowd. I ask around and they say they’ve given away all the bracelets but no worries we can queue without one. In the end I only had to wait 30 minutes to be let in with 29 other people. In the meantime I chatted with women of all ages. It was funny because most of them knew nothing about the collection… models, prices, etc So I explained a little (what can I say it’s my humanitarian side! lol). Once in the Lanvin coral (moo!) it was a little crazy. I can’t even imagine it with more than 30 people. I grabbed a red necklace and it was already the last one. I had a quick look around and the party dresses weren’t selling too well. After 5 minutes I checked the men stuff downstairs and there was noone left but plenty of clothes!
BIB = Big is Beautiful ou aussi le pire nom pour une collection grande taille – or the worst name for a plus size range.
